Optimize Your Vacation by Allowing Us To Show You the Must See Scenic Spots In Mammoth Lakes
4 Hours (Door-to-Door) – Learn more about life in this idyllic mountain town, its resident bear community, and how the ski resort started. During your tour you’ll see some of Mammoth Lakes most scenic spots, including: the Lakes Basin, Old Mammoth’s Historic mining area, Minaret Vista, Hot Creek geological site, Hayden Cabin Museum, and more.
Lakes Basin: Twin Lakes, Lake Mary, Lake George, Lake Mamie, and Horseshoe Lake are located along Lake Mary Road, with elevations starting at 8,540 ft. to 9,008 ft. These lake beds were scooped out of solid rock by glaciers and are popular for fishing, boating, and photography. Picnic areas are available at several locations.
Hot Creek: Hot Creek is a phenomenon of live hot springs and fumaroles (gas vents) which heat a cold mountain stream. Hot Creek is closed to Swimming, due to varying temperatures of the water.
Hayden Cabin: Mammoth museum, a 1927 log cabin, is one of the earliest accommodations in the area. Bed and breakfast style, Mr. and Mrs. Hayden operated in the summer, offering beds, meals, and hunting and fishing guide services for visitors. Handcrafted by Mr. Hayden to withstand the harsh climates in Mammoth, the buildings and all furniture are well preserved, and most of the tools, kitchenware, and other objects from that time are on display.

5 Star Review on Yelp
My family and I were visiting Mammoth Lakes for the first time and we wanted to arrange a tour to do some sight seeing. Lucas took us to some really great spots that we would have NEVER found without him. He is extremely informed and is truly knowledgeable about the history and area. Our tour was supposed to last 4 1/2 hours and he extended it because we requested it see some other things beyond those offered. He was so kind about our requests and we truly appreciated his willingness to help us. Prior to our tour, he was very responsive to our questions via phone calls. I loved how professional he was. He was on time (huge plus) and also gave us some great recommendations (June Lake Beach is a must)! i highly recommend scheduling a tour, especially if it’s your first time in Mammoth. Thanks Lucas and MAWS!
